Garage door scams are more common than most homeowners realize, and they’re showing up right here in Celina and across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Scam operations cycle through generic company names, skip physical addresses entirely, and use phone numbers that trace back to nothing. Knowing what to watch for keeps your home and your wallet protected.
A technician shows up for a simple repair but claims your entire system needs replacing, then inflates the bill with vague charges.
Cheap parts are installed on purpose so they fail fast. "Free" replacements keep you calling back, but labor fees pile up every visit.
The company advertises trained in-house technicians but sends an unlicensed subcontractor with no ID and no accountability.
A low service fee gets a technician through your door. Once inside, they pressure you into expensive repairs that weren't part of the original quote.
Scammers use generic names, borrowed photos, and untraceable numbers to build fake listings. Always verify a physical address before booking.
